Bernice “Billie” Paulson, 96, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Interfaith Care Center in Carlton, MN.
Billie was born November 17, 1921 to Henry and Mary (Trettle) Burggraff. She graduated from Cloquet High School in 1939; then married Ira Paulson, “the love of her life” on September 14, 1940. She and Ira moved to Scanlon in 1945. Billie worked at the “Match Mill” in Cloquet for about 40 years.
Billie’s greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At family gathering she could always be found singing to and rocking a baby.
She is survived by her daughter, Belinda (Steve) Hudler; son-in-law, Stanley Hultgren; 6 grandchildren, Benita, Corina (Richard), Darren (Dawn), Erica (Chad), Abbey (Jamison), and Corey; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Ira; daughter, Darlene; granddaughter, Alana; and all of her 10 brothers and sisters.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Frances Catholic Church in Carlton, Minnesota. Entombment will be in Sunrise Memorial Cemetery in Hermantown. Arrangements are being provided by Souder-Handevidt Funeral & Cremation Service of Cloquet (www.handevidtfh.com).
