Catherine Erdmann Obituary

Catherine Elaine Erdmann, originally from Carlton, MN, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Monday, December 16, 2019, at Edgewood Vista in Duluth.

Cathy was born on September 23, 1943, in Cloquet, MN, to Elsie and Morley Fall. She married Rodger Lee Erdmann on September 29, 1962 and together had four children.

Cathy was also a dedicated caregiver at the Carlton Nursing Home for many years, officially retiring in 2005. She was a member of J.M. Paine Presbyterian Church in Carlton and a summer resident at Island Lake Campground in Cromwell. She enjoyed camping and hunting with her husband and spent most of her summer days fishing. Cathy was an avid reader and an artist, enjoying painting, sketching, and singing. She loved to spend time baking and embroidering, but most of all she loved spending time visiting, especially with her close friend Lester in her latter years.

Preceding Cathy in death were her beloved husband Rodger Erdmann; parents Morley and Elsie Fall; brothers Jim and Ralph Fall; sister-in-law Monie Fall; and son-in-law Jerry St. Germain. She is survived by her children Tammy (Rick) LaDean, Beverly St. Germain, Sue (Dave) Myllymaa, and Eric Erdmann; three siblings, Laverna (Bruce) Godbout, Linda (Larry) St. Germain, and Janice Polo; sister-in-law Liz Fall; grandchildren Samantha, Sandy, Amber, Travis, Cody, and Dakota; and great-grandchildren Jerry and Edalynn.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Cathy’s supportive sister-in-law Patty (John) Seredenski, and the staff at Edgewood Vista for the compassionate care they provided to Cathy. We are also grateful to our extended family and friends for their continued support.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2019, at 10:00am at the J.M. Paine Presbyterian Church in Carlton, MN. Arrangements are being handled by Souder Handevidt Funeral & Cremation Services, Cloquet.
