Dean Christensen, 91, of Cass Lake, MN died Friday, August 17, 2018 at Touch of Home Assisted Living in Bemidji.
Dean was born January 20, 1927 in Cass Lake, MN to Ahlert and Clara (Boutang) Christensen. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Army as a teletype operator, then attended two years and two quarters at St. Cloud Teachers’ College. He returned home and worked in the painting and decorating business and also worked at the First National Bank in Cass Lake as a custodian for 30 years. When he was young, Dean liked to hunt and fish. As he got older, he loved gardening and yardwork and also enjoyed working in his shop, refinishing furniture and restoring trunks. Dean never married, but his friends and relatives shared their families with him. Dean always said that he was grateful for having good friends, relatives, and neighbors.
Dean is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walter; and sisters, Ardis Kelley and Dorothy Bilek.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11:00 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cass Lake with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Arrangements are being provided by Dennis Funeral Home of Walker. (www.dennisfuneralhome.com)
