William “Bill” Fredrick Sellner, age 67, of Walker, MN passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 7, 2019.
Bill was born on October 22, 1951 in Comfrey, MN to Raymond and Lovonelle “Dugan” (Curry) Sellner. At the age of 15, he moved with his family to Willmar, MN where he graduated from Willmar High School. In the early 1970’s, Bill moved to Springfield, MN where he met Karen Timm. They were married on July 6, 1974 and were blessed with two daughters: Tiffany and Annette. They made their home in Rochester, MN and later Byron, MN. When Bill retired from Crenlo Manufacturing in 2014, he and Karen moved to Walker, MN and enjoyed living on Little Turtle Lake.
Bill enjoyed life. He loved vintage cars and was the proud owner of a 1974 VW Super Beetle which he restored beautifully. He and Karen loved going on adventures to explore and visit the many Northwoods attractions in the area. He also loved being a grandpa and would volunteer at the drop of a hat to babysit and spoil his five grandchildren. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Walker, volunteered at the Hackensack Co-Op, and donated his time to the Walker Area Food Shelf. Bill was blessed to meet so many great people both in Byron and in retirement in Walker.
He will be lovingly remembered by Karen, his wife of almost 45 years; two daughters: Tiffany (Joe) Eckberg and Annette (Jacob Johnson) Sellner; five grandchildren: Evelyn, Winnie, Bert, Evie and Casey; his brother Stan (Marsha) Sellner of Texas and his niece, Angie (Tom) Tomlinson of WI.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, James Lehrer; and his sister, Rae Jean Stern.
A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Walker with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran School or The American Heart Association.
