Adrian D. "Ebb" Fairbanks, Akwa Makwa “Great Bear” of the Bear Clan, age 73, began his journey to the spirit world on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in Bemidji, MN.
Adrian was born on April 18, 1951, in Red Lake, MN, to Viola (McGraw) and Harry Fairbanks. After high school, he went on to attend college for accounting. He worked at the Redby Mills for many years until his retirement in 2001 from an injury. He enjoyed being home with his “Better Half” Gloria, and spending time with his grandsons and especially his six great grandkids and his daughters. He was addicted to Bingo and loved to play scratch offs.
He will be lovingly remembered by his “Better Half” Gloria; daughters: Renee and Trina Fairbanks; step-son, Curtis Jourdain; special grandsons: Brandon Fairbanks Sr. and Douglas King Jr.; special great- grandkids: Kaelene, Brandon Jr., Frank Jr., Kaelynn, Delacia, Katrina, Kordell, Jennifer, Cayleigh and Raelynn; sister, Charlene Johnson; brothers: William Fairbanks, Duane (Trina) Fairbanks and Herman Fairbanks; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Those greeting him in the spirit world are: granddaughters: Jennifer Fairbanks and Kaeley King; parents: Viola and Harry Fairbanks; brothers: Gordon and Ron Fairbanks; as well as many other family members.
A traditional wake will begin at 1PM on Monday, October 28, 2024 at the New Red Lake Community Center and continue until the service at 10AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 with Ty Stately as spiritual leader. Active pallbearers will be: Brandon Fairbanks Sr., Brandon Fairbanks Jr., Arlen “Oats” Desjarlait, Randy White, Douglas King Jr, Frank Weise Jr., Bob Meeshenow, Gordon Fairbanks Jr. and alternates: Curtis Jourdain, Gordon Jones, Jerry King, Cyrus King. Honorary pallbearers will be: Kaelene Weise, Kaelynn Weise, Delacia Loud, Katrina Loud, Raelynn Lussier, Lisha Johnson, Sissy King, Karen King, Kris King, Fred King, Donna Fairbanks, Melisa Jones, Karen Jones, James Bedeau, Kristen Brown, Kristi Day, Kelly Greengrass. Burial will be at the Fairbanks Family Burial Grounds in Red Lake. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack.
