Alvin Robert Johnson Sr

Alvin Robert Johnson Sr, age 53, began his journey to the spirit world on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Alvin is the son of Eliza Johnson and Delanor Wilson. He was born on November 1, 1971 in Red Lake, MN, and passed in Red Lake. He lived his entire life in Ponemah, MN. He attended school in Wahpaton, ND, and Red Lake. Alvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the casino and he liked to cruise around with friends. He liked pizza, frybread, fruit snacks and much more. Alvin enjoyed pow-wow music, 99.1 and Johnny R. He worked for Seven Clans Casinos in Warroad and Thief River Falls. He also worked at the sawmill in Redby, MN. He worked on a fishing boat in Chicago. Alvin also enjoyed ice fishing, four-wheeler cruising and was loved for being funny and terrorizing his friends and family.

Those he leaves behind are his siblings: Robert (Charlie) Johnson, Doug Spears, Sam (Connie) Johnson of Ponemah and Arlan (Jolene) Johnson of Warroad, MN; aunts: Doris Spears and Connie Raincloud of Ponemah; half-sister: Carol Spears of Ponemah; uncles: Martin Raincloud of Ponemah, Earl (Auscea) Raincloud of Hines, MN; his children: Nicole Cloud of St Paul, Alvin (Ajay, Shanna) Johnson of Warroad, Andrew (Laresha) Cloud of Warroad, Kelsey (Jon) Johnson of Warroad, Stacy Cloud, Keenan Cloud of Ponemah, Ashlynn, Avery, Anessa, Delanor, Maiingan Johnson and Brandon Stately of Ponemah; 17 grandchildren; and good friend: Bernadine Cloud.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mother Eliza Johnson and Father Delanor Wilson; his siblings: Katherine Johnson and Vernon (Buffy) Johnson; and his son, Dylan Cloud.

A wake will begin at 11 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Ponemah Boys & Girls Club and will continue until the service at 10 AM on Monday, October 13, 2025 with Spiritual Leader Allen Hardy. Active Pallbearers will be Preston Spears Sr, Dewayne French, Mikey French, Lorenzo White, Jon Nebrida, Jordon Cloud, Ron Cloud III, Melvin Wilson, Caleb Graves.  Alternates: Ajay Johnson, Andrew Cloud, Arlan Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be all his family and friends. Burial will be at the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving Northern Minnesota.
