Amanda Joan Jones, age 38, began her journey to the spirit world on Sunday, August 17, 2025 in Minneapolis, MN.

Amanda was born on January 12, 1987 to Albert Jones and Lisa Sanchez (Wilkins) in Minneapolis, MN.

Amanda is survived by her children: Aleena VanWert, Lawaun Franklin and Amina McFarland; granddaughter: Xiamara VanWert; sisters: Andrea Manzano (Jones), Alisha Wilkins; and brothers: Alex Jones and Joshua Jones.

A wake will begin at 2 PM on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center, 2300 15th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN, and will continue with services at 5 PM on Friday and 10 AM on Saturday, August 23, 2025 with Spiritual Leader William Peters. Active Pallbearers will be Angel Martinez Manzano, Angel Hernandez, Derrick Weyaus, Lawaun Franklin, Vince Williams and Mauricio Manzano. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex Jones, Joshua Jones, Codey Stone, Corey Stone and Nico Stone. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Northern Minnesota.
