Annette Smieja Obituary

Annette Marie Smieja, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Hackensack on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Annette was born on January 31, 1944 in Shakopee, MN, to Henry and Glena (Gast) Arnold. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing and stamping. Annette especially loved spending time with her family.

Annette is survived by her children: Brenda (Sean) Johnson, Daniel Smieja, Russell (Missy) Smieja and David Smieja; grandchildren: Hanna Smieja, Cody (Jessica) Smieja, Zack (Jolene) Smieja, Randy (Courtney) Smieja, Reid (Bekah) Johnson and Ruby Smieja; great-grandchildren: RJ Smieja and Noah Smieja; and brother: Richard (Rick) Arnold.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Glena Arnold; husband, Bernard Smieja; and sister: Susan Welter.

A private family service will be held. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack, MN.
