Arlen “Skidge” Lussier Sr, age 76, of Red Lake, MN, passed away peacefully at his home on July 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Skidge was born on January 5, 1950 in Red Lake to Elmer Robert Lussier Sr and Margaret Rose (Spears) Lussier. On January 10, 1970, he married the love of his life, Eldora, and together they built a beautiful life and raised a loving family. A dedicated and hardworking man, Skidge began working at just 14 years old. Throughout his career, he held many positions, including police officer, contract worker, surveillance operator, and security guard, before retiring in 2013. No matter where he worked, he was known for his strong work ethic and his willingness to help others. Above all else, Skidge cherished his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. He enjoyed going for drives, browsing stores and trying his luck playing caveman keno. Skidge never met a stranger – he loved visiting with people, sharing jokes and making others laugh. His home was always open, and he was known for his caring heart, generosity, and kindness to everyone who walked through his door. Skidge’s love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family will be deeply missed, but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
He will be loving remembered by his wife of 56 years Eldora; his baby son Ethan Lussier; his kids Robin (Diane) Lussier, Arlen Lussier Jr, Jan Lussier, Tawn (Roy) White, Lawrence (Mel) Lussier, Ashley (Darren) Lussier-King, Leighshell (David) Layton, Cody Lussier, and Edward May; 14 grandkids and 28 great-grandkids; special grandkids who he helped raise – Jayden, Alan III, Latrelle, Brantley, Blake, Peyton, Kyreigh and Bryson; and special life-long best friend Truxton Anderson Sr.
Skidge was preceded in death by his parents, sons Alan “Big Alan” Lussier Sr and Alan “Dawg” Lussier Jr; granddaughter Tanaya Lussier and Amelia Schoenborn; great-grandson Robin Lee Lussier Jr; brothers Elmer, Wayne Sr and Gilbert Lussier Sr; and sisters Bobbi Ann Lussier and Leslie Stone.
