Bernard “Stacy” Louis Dorvinen, 55, of Walker, Minnesota passed away at home on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was surrounded by loving family - daughter Taylor, son Christian, mom Linda, dad Kent and stepmother Deb.
Stacy was born on March 6, 1967, in Cass Lake to Linda Lyons (Aitken), beloved grandparents Ray and Joyce Lyons, and auntie Cindy Lyons (Reed). He spent his early years in Park Rapids and was an overseas traveler before entering kindergarten in Cass Lake. He shared stories of his adventures to the first-grade class of seeing Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, skiing in the Alps, the Pope, and the Acropolis. To his teachers, it sounded like he had quite an imagination. He made lifelong friends during his school years at Cass Lake who were with him until the end.
Stacy continued his education at Moorhead and Bemidji before enlisting in the Air Force in September 1986. His basic training was at Lackland AFB in San Antonio and from there he was stationed at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi. His mom was so proud that he received a “good conduct” metal (smile).
He worked at Leech Lake Gaming as one of the first blackjack dealers and later in administrative and manager positions. His knowledge of computers gained in the military and at Brown College in Mendota Heights, MN was instrumental in many areas of his work. Most recently, he worked at the Grand Portage Casino.
Stacy loved his family, and his family loved him so very much. He enjoyed a good campfire, riding his ATV in the woods, family, and friends’ gatherings, boating on Cass, Leech, and lakes around GP. He was a huge sports fan of the Vikings and was always waiting, waiting, and waiting for their big win…. maybe this year.
Stacy was blessed with a large and extended family – Lyons, Beaulieu, Dorvinen and Aitken.
Stacy is survived by his beloved children, Taylor and Christian Dorvinen; mom, Linda Aitken; father, Kent (Deb) Beaulieu; half-siblings - Clifford Beaulieu; Dave (Val) Isaacson; Lee (Brandy) Pemberton; Lynde (Todd) Brandon; step-siblings - Nina Nicole; Todd (Ina) DeLack. Aunties - Cindy (Lance) Reed; Gloria Hanson; Katherine Pemberton; Susie Roy; Lynn Dorvinen Olman and Jan Dorvinen. Uncles – Tom Lyons; Skip Lyons. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray & Joyce Lyons; Clifford & Margaret Beaulieu; Harry & Gladys Dorvinen; great-grandmother, Erma Drumbeater; half-sibling, Susie Kay; his adoptive dad, Bob Dorvinen; stepdad, Roger Aitken; cousin, Nick Lyons; aunties & uncles, Edward, Marvin Joe & Richard Beaulieu; Luella Brunelle; Harry Dorvinen; and good buddy, Dan Sardone (Keesler AFB).
Stacy was also blessed with many good friends who, along with his son Christian, will serve as his pallbearers: brother Cliffy, Cousin Eric Reed, Chris Pemberton, Richard Bennett, Judd Stokes, John Homer, and Craig Nason. Serving as Honorary pallbearers are his besties: Paula Johnson, Jennifer Keller, Karen Jean Pemberton, Nina Nicole, Hedi Hitchcock, Kari Gehrke, Tina Mae Haley, and Katie Hurtig.
