Billy Jack Schoenborn Sr

Billy Jack Scoenborn, Sr, age 53, began his journey to the spirit world on December 6, 2025 in Minneapolis, MN.

Billy was born on October 14, 1972 to Chris and Betty Schoenborn in Red Lake, MN. His older siblings received the honor of naming him. Billy Jack attended Red Lake High School and later went on to graduate from the Perpich Center for Arts and Education in Golden Valley, MN, in 1989. He worked for a brief period with his dad and brothers at Schoenborn’s logging. He was a lifeguard and manager at Thief River 7 Clans Waterpark and Casino. He played pool (Warriors) with his dad and numerous friends who were all considered brothers and won many championships in the surrounding area. He later had to start playing in the Master’s League. He was the family pool shark!!! Billy also loved fishing, playing horseshoes (winning many tournaments), playing bingo and was a Golden Gloves boxer. He was well-known for his artwork, wood burnings and drawings and has a lot of his artwork around the community. Billy married Angela Charnoski in August of 2004 and, even though they separated, they still remained close friends. Billy was a very friendly and outgoing guy . He made many friends through the years. He will be missed by many.

Billy is survived by his children: Tyrone Schoenborn, Austin Schoenborn, Taylor Schoenborn, Billy Jack Jr and Dalton Defoe; 12 grandchildren; his special mom: Candace Beaulieu; sisters: Dawn Schoenborn, Marlys Schoenborn and Jan (Arlan) Roberts; brothers: Kevin Schoenborn, Chris “Gus” (Tammy) Schoenborn and Mike Schoenborn; and his special guard dog “Lady.”

He is preceded in death by his parents: Chris and Betty Schoenborn; sister: Rose Marie Schoenborn; brothers: Donald “Buck” Schoenborn and Bryan Schoenborn; nephews: Chris and Kyle Schoenborn; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A wake will begin at 1 PM on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Redby Community Center and will continue until the service at 12 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025. Active Casketbearers will be Billy Jr, Taylor, Austin and Tyrone Schoenborn, Dalton Defoe, Ave Schoenborn, Christopher Schoenborn, Will Jones, Gunz Roberts. Honorary Casketbearers will be Barry King, Willa Lussier, Richard Johnson, Darrell “Dane” Clark, Oliver “Corky” Clark, Tom Hardy, Dawn Schoenborn, Kevin Schoenborn, Josh Stately, Ange Charnoski, Amanda Jourdain, Tammy Cobenais, Neoka Donnell, Barb Jensen, Stephan Strong, Millie Johnson, Dorla Chaboyea, Shelly Barton-Schoenborn, Gordon “Chopper” Fairbanks, Sydney Roberts, Travis, Kris and Raven Roberts, Gary Lee Johnson, Charlie “Whee” Charnoski, Melinda Spears, Joe Schoenborn, Dan Schoenborn, Brent Schoenborn, Trevor Schoenborn, Mike Schoenborn Jr, Marvin Schoenborn Sr, Kris Schoenborn. Billy Jack will be buried in the spring next to his parents in Redby, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving Northern Minnesota.
