Brandon James Madigan

Brandon James Madigan, "Ishkode Makoons" (Fire Cub), began his spiritual journey surrounded by family on August 5, 2021.

He was born June 29, 1996, to Darold Madigan Sr. and Flower Kingbird. Brandon grew up in many places including Minneapolis, Cass Lake, and Bemidji. Brandon worked a variety of jobs and always took pride in his work. Brandon was known for many things; his loyalty, his love for family and friends, his contagious laughter, his humor, and a smile that could light up any room. He was full of life and a willingness to do anything for those he loved. No matter where he was, his great love for his children kept them close to his heart. 

He will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind; his parents, Darold Madigan Sr. of Cass Lake and Flower Kingbird of Bemidji, his step dad, Patrick Haugen of Bemidji, his second mom, Cori Brown of Bemidji, his children, Ameriah Brown-Madigan of Bemidji, Brycen Sumner of Red Lake, and his "mini me", Chaske Kingbird of Bemidji, his siblings, Darold Madigan Jr. (Kit) of Cass Lake, Clarissa Kingbird-Madigan (Serina) of St. Paul, Kendra Haugen of Bemidji, Mauricia Kingbird (Bobby) of Bemidji, Carlito Kingbird of Bemidji, Sidney Kingbird-Haugen of Bemidji, LisaLynn Goggleye of Cass Lake, Wiley Myers of Bemidji, paternal grandfather, Larry Madigan of Cass Lake, maternal grandmother, Donna Kingbird of Mission, maternal great-grandmother, Carol Kingbird of Mission, maternal grandfather Raleigh Oakgrove of Redby, the love of his life, Emery Rose Brown of Bemidji, many friends and cousins that he considered brothers and sisters, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members.

Meeting him in the spirit world will be his grandma, HwaSu Madigan, his great grandpa, Sidney Kingbird, his great great grandma, Delma Kingbird, his brother, Patrick Haugen Jr., and many other friends and relatives. 

Active Pallbearers will be Richard Lussier, William Lussier, Brody Sayers, Randolph Pacheco III, Marcus Burris, Nicholas Cook, De'Avion Beasley, Cesar Benitiz, Dimitri "Meech" Accardo, and Dezmond Ramirez.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Willard Reed Jr., Brittany Reed, Jordan Thompson, Carlito Kingbird, Jarvis Lussier, Damien Benitiz, and all of his close friends.

A wake will begin Sunday, August 8th, at 7 PM at the Mission Community Center and will continue until the services on Tuesday, August 10th at 10 AM at the Mission Community Center. Burial will be in the family burial grounds in Mission. Allen Hardy will serve as the Spiritual Leader.
