Bruce Wayne Roy, age 73, began his journey to the spirit world on Sunday, March 16, 2025 in Park Rapids, MN.
Bruce was born on August 24, 1951 to Chuck Roy and Mary Neadeau Roberts in Red Lake, MN. Bruce grew up in the Red Lake area before moving to Minneapolis. Bruce spent his summers in Red Lake with his grandma before moving back and graduating from Red Lake in 1970. He then went into the Army and performed over 39 jumps in his time as a Paratrooper. He then moved back to the cities before coming back to Red Lake in later years. Bruce liked to draw and paint, hunting, and especially spending time with his grandkids.
Bruce is survived by his daughters: Nichole Engelby (Lance Peterson) and Crystal Engelby; son: Jericho Redeagle; sisters: Ruby Gurneau, Pamela Boyd, Halona Karlstad, Dawn (Perry) White, Irma Beaulieu and Kimberly White; uncles: Clyde Neadeau, Terry Neadeau, Elywn Neadeau; aunt: Bonnie Gottberg; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Georgia Roy; daughter: Charmaine Hill; granddaughter: Nakiah “Opichi” Stillday; parents Chuck Roy and Mary Neadeau Roberts; grandparents: Edith Kelly Neadeau and Henry Neadeau; brothers: Scott Ganyo and Martin Roy: sister: Cheryl Roy; nephew: Devin Anderson; and many uncles and aunts.
A wake will begin at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the Old Little Rock Center and will continue until the service at 11 AM on Friday, March 21, 2025 with Fr. Tom Niehaus. Active Pallbearers will be Trevor Hanson, Bobby Hanson, Michael Karlstad, Derek Karlstad, Robin Roy, Todd Anderson, Claude & Lee Neadeau. Honorary Pallbearers will be Red Lake Casino Employees. Burial will be at St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack, MN.
