Calvin L. Kingbird Sr, age 74, began his journey to the spirit world on May 31, 2026 in Bemidji, MN.
Calvin was born on April 5, 1952 to Clarence Kingbird and Mary Jane Smith in Red Lake, MN. Calvin liked fishing, working on cars, going to the casino to play keno and playing card cards – blackjack, cribbage and dice. Calvin was always “chillin”.
Calvin is survived by his children, Calvin Kingbird Jr, Chelsea Robinson and Calvin Robinson; siblings, Glendoris Kingbird, Adrian (Lesley) Kingbird, Doreen (Shaun) French and Cheryl White; as well as many other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Jane; maternal grandparents, Abraham and Maggie Smith; paternal grandparents, Henry Cloud and Hazel Kingbird; and siblings, Delores Cloud, Gloria Klingensmith, Elizabeth Klingensmith, Melanie Kingbird, Benjamin Kingbird Sr, Cornealius Kingbird, Beverly Kingbird, Clinton Kingbird, Llewellyn Kingbird, Emerson Kingbird, Lawrence Kingbird and Wanda Kingbird.
A wake will begin at 12 PM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the Redby Center in Redby, MN and will continue until the service at 10 AM on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Active Pallbearers will be Reginald May, Darwin May, Thomas May, Lawrence Kingbird, Ronald Lanham, Marvin Bowstring, Damian Lanham, Colton Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Family and Friends. Burial will be at the Redby Cemetery in Redby, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving Northern Minnesota.
