Cheyenne Durna Jones

Cheyenne Durna Jones, age 33, began her journey to the spirit world on Saturday, October 18, 2025 in Minneapolis, MN.

Cheyenne was born on January 28, 1992 to Steven Rock and Melanie Jones in Minneapolis, MN. Cheyenne, affectionately known as “China,” was a bright light — full of laughter, creativity, and an unmatched ability to bring joy to those around her. She was adventurous, funny, kind to her core, and always willing to go out of her way to help others. Whether it was with her sharp sense of humor or her compassionate heart, China had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and understood. A woman of many passions, China was a gifted artist whose drawings reflected her beautiful spirit. She loved basketball — both playing and watching — and music was the rhythm of her life. But above all, her greatest passion was her family, especially children. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her own kids and the many little ones who looked up to her.

China is survived by her five beloved children: Marcos, Abel, Rolando, Zakaria, and Melanie — each of whom carries a piece of her vibrant spirit. She leaves behind a family who adored her, including her sister Juanita Jones, her brother Antonio “Bones” Bellenger, her aunt Melvina Jones Gustavo, her uncle Joseph Jones, and her cherished nieces and nephews: Monica, Jorge, Hector, Eduardo, Kayson, Bella, Liliana, and Briella. She will also be dearly missed by her many cousins, including Marissa Jones Gustavo and Emily Aseigh, along with countless friends and extended family who were touched by her kindness, her wit, and her love.

China is now reunited in peace with her loving mother, Melanie Jones, her grandmother, Christine Jones, and her dear brother, Steven "Sonny" Jones.

A wake will begin at 3 PM on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Church of Gichitwaa Kateri, 3045 Park Avenue, Minneapolis, MN and will continue until 12 PM on Friday, October 24, 2025. The wake will then resume at the Cass Lake Facility Center at 4 PM on Friday, October 24, 2025 and continue until the service at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Active Pallbearers will be Marcos Maldonado Jones, Abel Maldonado Jones, Hector Jones, Jorge Jones, Antonio Bellanger, Robert Bellanger. Burial will be at Prince of Peace Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN.

Though her time with us was too short, the light Cheyenne brought into the world continues to shine through her children, her art, her laughter, and the love she gave so freely. Rest easy, China. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
