Christine Lynn Torres

Christine Lynn Torres, age 56, of St. Paul, MN, travelled to the spirit world on Thursday, November 25, 2021.

Christine was born on July 20, 1965, in Brainerd, MN to Fredrick and Linda (Mitchell) Jones. She made her home in St. Paul, MN.  She was married to Sergio Torres on August 1, 1998 and together they raised eight children:  Cory, Yolanda, Leticia, Sergio, Dulce, Alma, Salvador and Silveria.  Christine was full of life. She loved dancing, listening to the oldies and mariachi music. She was an avid Vikings fan and could be found on her couch Sunday afternoons cheering them on. She was fun loving, quick to laugh, and fiercely protective of her family. She was a great cook and her children looked forward to her Indian tacos with homemade fry bread. Above all she loved spending time with her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Sergio, children:  Cory (Angel) Jones, Leticia (Sophea) Lopez, Sergio Torres, Dulce (Richard) Torres, Alma (Eric) Torres, Salvador Torres and Silveria Torres; grandchildren: Estralla, Alyssa, Jade, Dominic, Benjamin, Jaselle, Anthony, Ayden, Michael, Mallie, Jaina and Vincent; her great-grand-daughter, Melody; siblings: Stan Jones, Rachel Jones and Christopher Jones; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Those greeting her in the spirit world are her parents; her daughter, Yolanda Lopez; siblings: Evelyn Jones and Bradley Jones and her nephew Dimitri Cantu.

A traditional wake will begin at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Leech Lake Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake and continue until the service on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Active casketbearers will be: Cory Jones, Sergio Torres, Salvador Torres, Raymond Sayers, Allend Jones, Christopher Jones and Julian Reuter.  Honorary casketbearers will be: Stan Jones, Enrique Cantu, Frankie Hall, Vincent Hall, Cody Hall and Spencer Ring.  Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker (www.whisperingpinesnorth.com).
