Clarence "Timmy" Johnson

Clarence “Timmy” Daniel Johnson, age 78 of the Bear Clan, of Red Lake MN, started his journey Wednesday July 26, 2023 at Hilltop Healthcare in Duluth, MN.

Clarence was born December 15th, 1944 in Red Lake to Eddie and Cecelia Johnson. Clarence grew up in Red Lake, resided in the Little Rock District and attended Red Lake School.  Clarence proudly served his Red Lake Nation by serving in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War, as his Brother John was already serving in Vietnam.  Clarence was a mechanic by trade and enjoyed working on vehicles.  Clarence also enjoyed travelling and trying new food, the Casino, BIR races in Brainerd and the Horse races.  Often Clarence would take scenic rides with his late Wife Elizabeth Johnson while they lived in Mahnomen.   

Clarence is survived by his Sister Judith (Lawrence) Lajeunesse of Red Lake MN and Brother John (Emily) Johnson of Red Lake, MN.  Children: Delilah Johnson, Priscilla Johnson, Conway Johnson, Renee Johnson, Ardelle Johnson, Clarice Johnson, Melissa Johnson, Amanda Johnson and his special Granddaughter Jasmine Johnson.  Also many Grandchildren and Nieces and Nephews.

Clarence is preceded in death by Grandparents John and Mary “Sahkahtay” (Strong) Johnson.  Parents: Eddie and Cecelia Johnson. Brothers: Edward Johnson and Jerome “Jerry” Johnson.  His Wife: Elizabeth “Liz” Johnson.

A wake for Clarence will begin Monday, July 31, 2023, at 1:00pm at the Little Rock Community Center and continue until the Funeral service on Tuesday August, 1, 2023 at Noon with Father John Christianson officiating.  Interment will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake MN.  Military honors will be provided by the 3 Star Warrior Society of Obahsheeng.   Active Pallbearers will be Tim Lajeunesse, Keith Lajeunesse, Jared Brown, Frank Gurno, Daniel White and Julian Benais.  With alternate Pallbearers being Jerome Johnson, Conway Johnson and Harlan Johnson.  Honorary Pallbearers will be William Greene, Mitchell Johnson, Will Strong, Merceline White, Gerald May Sr., Helen Plum, Alan Lajeunesse Sr., Cheryl Thunder, Michelle Cobenais-Barrett, Clayton Barrett, Richard (Michelle) Barrett Jr., Morris Smith, Ringo (Marsha) Needham, Marlys King, Marilyn “Cookie” Littlecreek and Marla Benais. Arrangements are entrusted to the Whispering Pines Funeral Home, Walker and Hackensack MN.
