Clinton Richard Salo

Clinton R. Salo of Cromwell, MN, formerly of Cloquet, MN, passed away on November 10, 2021 at Villa Vista Nursing Home in Cromwell, Minnesota. He was born on November 10, 1945, the son of Walter and Frances (Marjamaa) Salo.

Clinton went to Minneapolis in 1966 to continue his education in Business Math and Upholstery skills. He worked for various businesses until 1968. He opened a business in Superior doing upholstery for 1.5 years. He continued working for many places until 1983 when he opened Upholstery Smith LTD, “My Own Place” in Cloquet, Minnesota. Clinton did that for many years. He worked for Mystic Lake Casino for awhile before moving back to Cloquet after retiring.

Clinton is survived by brother Marlen Salo; sisters Marsha (Darlene) Zank and Dardanell (Beanie) Randa; wife Debra Salo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother August; sister Dale Renee; brother-in-law Walter Randa; sister-in-law Arnelda Salo; nephews Mark Salo, Rodney Zank; niece Stacey Salo; and great niece Katija Sufka.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Sno-Gophers, 1247 Highway 73, Cromwell, Minnesota.
