Clyde Edward Oliver, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Becker, Minnesota. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 26, 1952 to Rollen and Beatrice (Countryman) Oliver.
Clyde was one of 4 children born to Rollen and Bea Oliver. He spent 4 years in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from high school in 1970. After his time in the Air Force, Clyde graduated from Bemidji State University in 1978 with a degree in Accounting. He then worked for the college in Brainerd for 31 years and spent 25 years as a Scout Leader for Pine River Backus Troop 73. The most important thing in Clyde’s life was his family. He loved seeing his nieces and nephews, and his great nieces and nephews.
Clyde is survived by his siblings: Rollen J. Oliver (Audrey), Nan Chesla (Dan), Nancy Runquist; and nieces and nephews: Chandra Holt, Chris Chesla, Andy Chesla (Danielle), Chalisa Litecky (Mike), Nathan Oliver (Kendra), Rachel Schlict (Mark); and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rollen and Beatrice Oliver.
A small, private family gathering will celebrate Clyde’s life with stories of the fun they had on the farm, in the Walker woods, the BWCA and at family reunions.
