Corky Ahrens Obituary

Corky Lee Ahrens, age 54, went home to her Lord and Savior on August 25, 2024 while at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.

Corky Ahrens was born on June 11, 1970, and her parents were Buzz and Carol Ahrens. Corky grew up in Walker, MN, and after graduating from Walker-Hackensack High School in 1989, she worked a variety of jobs in the community. Corky and Chuck Trosen married in 1992, and they had three sons: Joshua, Matthew, and Jordan. It was after Jordan was born that Corky decided to work her favorite job - being at home and taking care of her boys and household. Corky dedicated her life to her family. You could always find her at her boys’ school/sporting events or making them delicious meals to enjoy together at home. She loved cookouts, lake days, and Holidays with her parents and sisters’ families. Corky also had a fabulous group of girlfriends who adventured with each other through each season of life. Corky greatly enjoyed traveling with her boys, whether it be beach vacations, cruises, or visiting the North Shore of Lake Superior. Corky loved seeing the sunset over an ocean beach or a northern Minnesota lake. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren - John Paul Trosen and Charlee Trosen. She would move mountains for them. Corky lived with great courage and strength in the Lord. We are so grateful to know she is with Jesus, holding her baby Matthew, and completely whole again.

Corky is survived by her two sons: Joshua (Tori) Trosen and Jordan Trosen; two grandchildren: John Paul Trosen and Charlee Trosen; sisters: Stacey (Bill) Drury, Sherry Heuton, Rachel Ahrens-Huewe, and Jessica (Paul) Peglow; brother Brian Bengtson; her nephews Brian (Sara) Trosen, Troy Trosen, Joey Morin, Kevin Trosen, Tim (Erica) Drury, Jake (Shelby) Trosen, and Hayden Huewe; her nieces Lisa (Mark) Rathje, Becky (Scott) Johnson, Chrissy (Paul) Thompson, Karly (Mark) Cobb, Taylor (Jorden) Pangrac, Makena Huewe, Raquel Wilson, and Ella Peglow; many great nephews and nieces, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Corky is preceded in death by her parents Buzz and Carol Ahrens; son Matthew Trosen; and grandparents: Chet and Martha Siltman, and Roy (Sr.) and Mavis Ahrens.
