Dante Aaron Staples

Dante Aaron Staples “Waagoshiings” (Little Fox), of the Loon Clan, of Cass Lake, Minnesota, began his spirit journey on Sunday, July 25, 2021, from Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota.  Baby Dante was born on Saturday, July 24, to Barbara A. Dick and Dennis J. (June) Staples, Jr.

Baby Dante took his first breath and blessed our hearts for 8 ½ hours during his courageous fight to live. His parents will cherish forever the sound of his first cry that put so much joy into their hearts. 

Baby Dante will live on in the hearts of his parents, sister Jazmin Montalvo, and grandparents Dennis Staples, Diane Fineday, and Arno Dick. Waiting to welcome him home with loving arms to the spirit world are his grandmother Maryann Bobolink, adopted grandfather Jim Harrison, and great-great grandfathers Cecil Ryan and Louis Junco.

A wake for Dante will begin Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 3:00 pm at the Mission Community Center, Cass Lake, MN, and will continue until his service on Thursday, July 29, at 11:00am. Melvin Goodman will serve as spiritual leader. Pallbearers will be Jacob Morris, Ryan Staples jr., Kenneth Staples Jr., Alfred Desjarlais II, Aaron Dick, Melvin Goodman, and Travis Gale. Honorary pallbearers will be all the friends and family who love him.  Burial will be in the Fineday Burial Grounds, Pennington, Minnesota.
