Darnell C. Cook

Darnell Chester Cook, age 17, of Red Lake, MN, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021.

Darnell was born on April 9, 2004, to Valeen Graves in Bemidji, MN.  He grew up in Red Lake and was a Senior at Red Lake High School.  Darnell had a quiet, sweet personality. He enjoyed being home with his family and loved to play XBox with his brother, Joey and his best friend, Shawn Parkhurst. He was kind, loving, funny, the best brother and was thought of as his families “Angel on Earth”.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Valeen (Golden Stately) Graves; his brother, Joey; sisters:  Catalina, Saleil and Harper; grandmother, Marlys Morrison; grandfather, Grant Graves; paternal grandmother, Ramona Stately whom he had a special place in his heart for and called her “Grandma Moma”; aunties: Beverly (Virgil) Brown, Gina Graves and Lani Morrison; uncles: Willy Morrison and Derek Smith; two special uncles: Virgil Brown and Brandon Stately; special cousins: Keira Smith and Kalli Smith; his best friend, Shawn Parkhurst; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Darnell was preceded by his great-grandparents: Chester and Mamie Morrison and LuAnne Charnoski-Graves; uncles: Gary Morrison, Greg Morrison and Joseph Morrison; and aunties: June May and Eileen Mendoza.
