Darrell James Paddy

Darrell James Paddy, age 51, passed away on March 21, 2026 at his home in Red Lake, MN. By his side were his brother Dean and his niece Alaina.

Darrell was born on March 16, 1975 to Raymond and Marion Paddy in Red Lake, MN. Darrell grew up in Chicago, where he played baseball and basketball. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He also listened to Chicago House music. He liked to play slots and card games at the casino, watch sports on tv, driving around listening to his tune and spending time with his family. He moved to Red Lake in the 2000’s to be closer to family. He worked most of his life. His last job was working as a PCA worker for our mom until he couldn’t anymore. He enjoyed his outings at neighborhood bars and playing pool. He had an easygoing spirit that charmed everyone he met. Darrell will be remembered for his generosity, his laughter and those whom he loved and hearts he touched.

Darrell is survived by his sisters: Sharon and Roxanne Paddy, and brother: Dean Paddy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Ramona; brother: David; and many other family and friends.

A wake for Darrell will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the Old Little Rock Center with the wake beginning at 11 AM and continuing until the service at 1 PM with Father Tom Niehaus.  Active Pallbearers will be Dean Paddy, Emilio Mendoza, Emilio Mendoza Jr, Michael Hayes, Carlos Mendoza, Robert Fier Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Juan Brito and Baldemar Calderon, Derek Paddy, Francisca Mendoza, Bianca Mendoza, Mandee Hayes, Raven Fier, Melisa Hayes, Lorena Paddy, Kwa Starr, Alaina Paddy. Burial will be at St Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, MN.  Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving Northern Minnesota.
