Darrell "Sudy" Stately

Darrell "Sudy" Stately, age 74, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in Red Lake, MN.

Darrell was born on February 5, 1951, in Red Lake, MN to Leona (Maxwell) and Frank Stately Sr. Darrell worked at the Old Hardware Store and then as a carpenter and supervisor for Red Lake Housing Authority from 1999 until his retirement in 2019. Darrell enjoyed trips to the casino to try his luck on the Keno machines and was never without a stick of Extra Gum. Family was important above all else and he will be remembered as a loving father and grandpa.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Becky (Chum) Cook, Darilyn (Cory Peterson) Cook, Corey (Joelle) Stately Sr., Darrell Lussier, Connie (Ray) Lussier, Daniel White; sister, LaVonne (Tony) Infante; special friend, Nicole Johns; grandchildren: Tracey, Jamie, Nicholas, Brianna, Tara, Marlene, Jolene, Cory Jr., Caitlyn, Cadee Jo, Lexi, Janessa, Catriese, Jaycee, Jaydon, Corey Jr., Amealieano Sr., Gavin; many great and great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

He in preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tracey Cook-Stately; brothers: Sam Stately, Frank Stately Jr.; sisters: Armella Stately, De-Maris Stately, Myrna Stately; best friend, Kenny Boy Hanson; as well as other relatives and friends.

A wake will begin at Noon on Monday, March 3, 2025 at the New Red Lake Community  Center in Red Lake and continue until the service at 1PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Active pallbearers will be: Arnold Stately, Adrian Stately, Frank Stately III, Jamie Cook, Clarence Drouillard, Duane “Ole” Spears, and alternate, Cory Peterson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Steve Beaulieu, Adrian Spears, Nicolas Defoe, Tony Infante, Sonny Drouillard, Arlen “AJ” Jourdain, Ty Stately, Wilbert Maxwell Jr. Burial will be at the Stately Family Burial Grounds in Red Lake.
