Darry "Porky" Lee Rosebear

Darry Lee “Porky” Rosebear 36, Kingfisher Clan, Makoons - “Little Bear”, of Ponemah, MN, travelled to the spirit world on Sunday, November 27, 2022, in Fargo, ND.

Darry was born to Fabian Rosebear Sr. and Donna Greenleaf on June 5, 1986, in Bemidji, MN.  Porky worked at the 7 Clans Casino in Red Lake, MN, as a shuttle driver and as an independent contractor for the Bemidji Pioneer.  He enjoyed going to the casino and going on long rides.   He loved going to ceremonies, visiting family and friends.    Porky would hunt, fish, go ricing, play cards and dice games, enjoyed cooking, making fry bread, eating and going to movies.   He made pipes and loved to sew.  Porky was always teasing and joking.   He helped others whenever he could and loved to spend time with his kids and family.

Stillday; John and Julia Kingbird, Frank and Margaret Rosebear, Dana Martin, John Joseph Kingbird Jr., Tanya kingbird, DeAnthony Cloud, Bernice Kingbird, Harlan Kingbird, Lucy Wilson, Judy Greenleaf, Warren Greenleaf, Dempsey Greenleaf, Dylan Cloud, Danita Cloud, Anna Gibbs, Beverly Cloud, Francis Stillday, Gerry Cloud, Rodney Wilson, James Benais and Lillian Greenleaf. 

Darry is survived by his wife, Julia Rosebear; children: Paige Rosebear, Wyatt Rosebear, Bradin Rosebear; Parent, Donna Greenleaf; siblings: Fabian Rosebear Jr., Nicholas Rosebear, Jerilyn Rosebear, John Rosebear, Darcy Benais Jr., Vance Benais;  other surviving family: Andrea Rosebear (Mother who raised him), David Rosebear Sr., Stepfather, Darcy Benais Sr.; Aunts: Ramona Nelson, Roberta (Sami) Syed, Rhonda (Craig) Rosebear, Linda Greenleaf, Roberta (Fred ) Greenleaf,  Sylvia Wilson, Shirley Rosebear, Rose Rosebear; Uncles: Vinson Wilson, Delwyn Wilson, Gary Greenleaf, Daryl Greenleaf, Brian Rosebear; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

A Traditional Wake will begin on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Ponemah Boys & Girls Club in Ponemah and continue until the traditional funeral service on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 10:00 AM.   Zac Earley and Ty Stately will be service and Spiritual Leaders and will be assisted by Kaitlyn Grenier.  Pallbearers for Porky will be: Mike Needham, Eric Armstrong, Rob Tibbetts, Wayne Hand, Corey Whitefeather Sr., Brian Johnson, Manidoo Maiingan, Kevin Martin Jr., Darcy Benais Sr., Alternates:  Fabian Rosebear jr., and Nicholas Rosebear.   Those servicing as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Kaitlyn Grenier, Zac Early, Ty Stately, Lana Whitefeather, Mike Needham, Sharon Rosebear, Brittany Rosebear, Kristina Martin, William Rosebear, Gilbert Rosebear, Rhonda Rosebear and all of his Mide family.    Burial will be in the Rosebear family burial grounds in Ponemah.  Arrangements are by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack (whisperingpinesnorth.com).
