Debra Susan Johnson-Fuller

Debra Johnson-Fuller (Gaagiigebinesikwe), age 68 of Brookston died on Monday, September 30th, 2024 in her home.

Debra was born Jan 20th, 1956 in Willmar to Howard Johnson and Therese Hendrickson-Coutore. Debra grew up in the New London-Spicer area. She moved to the St. Cloud area where she met Dan and his two children, Tim and Elizabeth (Bitsa). They were married in Kimball, MN on Jun 29th, 1991. After a journey of finding her heritage and culture, Deb moved to the Fond du Lac reservation where she became an active member of the community. She had many careers throughout her life, all focusing on helping others. Debra was a symbol of strength for her family and community. She was known first as a mother to all and later as “Grandma D”.

Debra is survived by her husband Dan; Sons Timothy, Christopher, Dominic; Daughters Elizabeth and Willow; Sister Sandy (Gary) Johnson and brother Jeff (Pat) Johnson as well as numerous grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, brother Howard “Smokey” Johnson, sister Sharyn “Melly” Johnson and son Ezekial Johnson.

The traditional wake will start at dusk (approximately 6:30pm) on Thursday October 3rd followed by the funeral on October 4th at 10:00 am at Fond Du Lac Head Start in Cloquet, MN. Active pallbearers will be Scott Abramowski, Travis Brown, Kello Brown, Trevontae "Pumpkin" Brown, Dewey Dupuis and Dexter Delille. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Melzer. Burial will follow at Indian Hill Cemetery in Brookston, MN.
