Delan Steve Omen Sr, Bear Clan, age 63, passed away peacefully at his home in (BOT) Red Lake, Minnesota, on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
Steve was born on May 31, 1962 to William and Pearl Omen in Red Lake, MN. In his healthier days, Steve liked to hunt and fish and do birch bark artwork, attend Pow Wows, go play his favorite machines at the casino, take his cruises to the outlet and back roads, he also enjoyed visiting with his family and friends.
Steve is survived by sisters: Meryle Sayers & Mary (Darrell) Omen; Special brother: Adrian Omen; Special Friend: Denise Whitefeather; daughter: Breanna Omen; sons: William Omen III and Delan Omen Jr; grandchildren Aeriel Whitefeather & Kaia Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by 2 infant sons; parents: William and Pearl Omen; sisters: Elenor Annette, Patricia Blue, Edith Omen and Linda Omen; and brothers: Infant brother Adrian Omen, Lavern Omen and William “Charlie” Omen.
A one-night wake will begin at 1 PM on Monday, June 30, 2025 at the New Red Lake Center and will continue until 11 AM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 with Father Tom Niehaus. Active Pallbearers will be Douglas Colhoff, William Omen III, Delan Omen Jr, Patrick Brun, Greg Stately, Adrian May and Richard Cook. Honorary Pallbearers will be Breanna Omen, Jr Parkhurst, Derick Siddens, Jr Jones, John Lussier, Dana Bonga, Lucas Bonga, Kevin Spears, Dan Brun, William “BJ” Parkhurst, Amelia Benais, Emmanuel Sigana, Sheldon Bailey and Toni Wells. Burial will be at St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Northern Minnesota.
