Delmar “Jim” James Hobson, 65, of Redby, MN, began his journey to spirit world on Friday, August 25, 2023, from the Jourdain-Perpich Extended Care in Red Lake.
He was born on August 19, 1958, to Doris Colonahaski and Daniel Hobson in Red Lake, MN. Delmar grew up in Red Lake, Minneapolis, and Bemidj, MN. He liked going for rides, going to the casinos, everywhere he went he made friends, liked smoking his weed, hanging out with his buddy, Harold, and drinking coffee in the middle of the night. He especially loved playing his guitars and cribbage.
The family Delmar is reunited with are his parents: Daniel and Doris Hobson; sisters: Doreen, Donna, Darlene, Delphine and Daileen Hobson; brothers: Daniel “Danny” Hobson, Jr., Darrell “Scud” Hobson and his nephew, Arnold “Ajay” Maxwell, Jr.
Those Delmar leaves behind to cherish his memories are his sister, Deborah (Arnold) Maxwell-Hobson and all his nieces and nephews.
The wake will begin at Noon at the Redby Community Center in Redby on Thursday, August 31, 2023, and continue until the funeral at 1PM on Friday, September 1, 2023, with Pastor Tom Pollock officiating. Active pallbearers will be: Arnold Maxwell, Sr., Virgil Kingbird, William Kingbird, James Smith, Jr., Henry Grayhawk, and Wayne Norby. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bobbi Norby, Cheryl Maxwell, Danielle Maxwell, Michelle Maxwell, Jaelynn Smith and Dana Maxwell. Burial will be at the Episcopal Cemetery in Redby at a later date.
