Donna Louise Day

Donna Louise Day, born April 25, 1949, passed away November 19, 2025, in Bemidji, MN, at Sanford Health Neilson Place. Donna was born in Cass Lake and was raised in Hibbing, Minnesota, with her family. She is a member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, where she lived for many years, paving many paths through her colorful life.

Donna has been called to her eternal rest where she will be reuniting with her father and mother, Steve and Marie “Frances” Littlewolf; brothers: Steve Jr., Ken, Rick, and Cedric; her sisters: Janice, Carol, Brenda, Joyce, and Della; her grandchildren: Justin, Jessica, Ciara, and Nicole; and many other beloved relatives who are awaiting her in Heaven.

Donna is survived by her brothers: Tim, Ron (Jenny), and Brian; her sisters: Cheryl and Verna; her children: Annette, Joshua, David, and Rebecca; her grandchildren: Kianna, Cody, Lance, Jacob, Cheyenne, William, Amerees, Selena, Nevaeh, Breseis, Hezekiah, Isaiah, and Bonnie; her 32 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, and her many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She has a large and beautiful community that she is leaving behind, wrapped in so much love.

Donna loved riding her motorcycle, watching movies, playing slots at the casino, listening to music, making crafts, doing puzzles, cooking, visiting, and reciting the word of God. Donna poured so much love into everyone around her; she loved the Lord and had deep devotion to Him. She loved her church family and her community. Donna loved her children and grandchildren and always made time to spend with them, even in her last days. Donna was a lifelong learner and received her degrees from Bemidji State University and Leech Lake Tribal College. Donna worked for Leech Lake Gaming and Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe throughout her life before retiring. Donna was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a caring daughter, sister, and friend. She helped many people with their journey through life. She had great patience and compassion and was willing to do anything for her family, with an undying love for the Lord that she demonstrated to all of those around her.

A funeral service will be held for Donna at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Cass Lake Alliance Church, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. The church is located at 21 2nd St NE, Cass Lake, MN. A meal will follow afterwards at the church to celebrate Donna’s life. Pallbearers include: Ron Littlewolf, Brian Littlewolf, Tim Littlewolf, Cody Sellman, Rich Beaulieu, Cheyenne Sellman, Nevaeh Day, and Hezekiah Day. Honorary Pallbearers are all of her family and friends. Arrangements were provided by Whispering Pines Funeral Service of Walker & Hackensack, Minnesota.
