Donna Spears

Donna Marie Spears (Martin Clan), age 78, of Redby, Minnesota, began her journey to the spirit world on Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Duluth, Minnesota. She was born on January 25, 1945 to Theodore  Roy Sr and Josephine Clark.

She was born in Red Lake, Minnesota, and attended school in Redby and Red Lake.  She was a lifelong resident in the Redby area. As a little girl, she was adopted by Joseph Howard, who was married to Josephine Clark.  Donna retired from Comprehensive Health in 2008. She enjoyed sewing, reading, thrifting, the casino and cruising! She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and people stopping by for a biscuit and tea. Donna was a really good fry bread maker! She also enjoyed chopping firewood and being her own mechanic. 

Donna leaves behind to cherish her memory son Corky (Roxanne) Clark; daughter Dianna (Ty) Stately; 6 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; brother Ed Cook; sisters Francis Johnson and Mona Stately; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by husband Richard Spears, parents Ted Sr and Josephine; grandmother Fannie Clark; Special Friend LaVerne “Buckshot” Neadeau; daughter Sher\lyn Howard; 2 grandsons Shaun and David Howard; and siblings Julia, Judy, Janice, Joyce, Marilyn, Georgiana and Joann; 2 brothers George and Joseph Howard. 

The wake will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at  Redby Community Center and continue until the service at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 9, 2023. Active pallbearers will be Stephen Howard, Nicky Howard, Tyrell Stately, Brandon Howard Jr, Cory L Stately, Guy Stately Jr.  Alternate Pallbearers will be Trey Howard Sr, Santee Howard , Remberto Howard and Brandon Howard Sr.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Linda Johnson, Alice Benais, Mary Ellen Cook, Vivian Clark, Thern Hegstrom, Kristy Fairbanks, Charisse Schoenborn, Louella Kingbird, Loretta Escareno, Carol Johnson, Marie Neadeau, Sue Neadeau, Terry Lynn Neadeau, Sheri Clark Downwind, Corky Clark, Gitch and Rick, Shauna Stately, Allison Cook, Rob Cook, Myron Sr and Dane Clark and all her friends.
