Doris Eleanor Denton

Doris Eleanor (Erickson) Denton, age 92, passed away June, 28, 2026 in Cloquet, MN.

Doris was born August 27, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN to Carl August Henry Erickson and Elvira Hannah Erickson (Lyngaas). After raising eleven children, Doris attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, which provided a lifelong outlet for her passion of painting. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon; their daughter, Susan McPhail (Denton); and brothers Melvin Erickson, Ben Erickson and Harold Erickson.

She is survived by her children Cindy Kobes, Sally (Marlyn) Schafer, Tim Denton (Janice), Jane Waldriff, Ned Denton (Linda), Warren Denton (Zaidah), Ronda Curtis, Sam Denton (Audrey), Brenda Denton (Dean), David Denton; her sister Myrtle Garske; 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11 AM with a luncheon following at the Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Interment will be at Mount Salem Cemetery in Mahtowa, MN.
