Elroy Dean Iceman

Elroy “Goonce” Dean Iceman, Nichiiwad “Brings the Storm”, age 42 of Bemidji, MN, and of the Bear Clan, began his journey to the spirit world on June 20, 2025 in Bemidji, MN.

Goonce was born on July 20, 1982 in Red Lake, MN, to Phyllis Iceman and the late Leroy White Sr. He loved spending time with his grandsons Giizis, Waaseyaa and Winter; nephews Ryan, Jamison, Xavian, Zylus and Orion, as well as with other family and friends. He really loved to cook, listen to music, go fishing, clean and take rides. He worked numerous jobs throughout his life. He attended school in Ponemah and Red Lake. He worked on cars when he could, loved to joke around and make everyone laugh, and no matter what song you played, he would switch up the lyrics to his own.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters: Jasmine Iceman (Will L), Ezryel Iceman (Anthony G), Elexis Iceman and Eleasia Iceman; grandsons: Giizis Iceman-Lohnes, Waaseyaa and Winter Graves; mother: Phyllis Iceman; sisters: Pamela Iceman, Kristy Iceman, Shari Iceman, Rosalie Iceman, Lee Ann Blue, Becky White and Georgia White; brothers: Dewayne Iceman, Kelly Iceman Sr, Leroy White Jr and Cheyenne Waybenais Sr; special niece: Kiylea Iceman; as well as many other family and friends.

Those greeting him in the spirit world are his wife: Mariah Luzius; dad: Leroy White Sr; sisters: Kimberly and Shirley White; brother: Sheldon “Hector” Iceman; grandparents: Alma and Robert Iceman and Audrey and Sam White; special nephew: Joseph Iceman; their family dog Nala; and numerous other family and friends.

A wake will begin at 12 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Ponemah Boys & Girls Club and continue until the service at 10 AM on Friday, June 27, 2025 with Spiritual Leader Allen Hardy. Active Pallbearers will be Kelly Iceman Jr, Keith Roy, Ken Roy, Randall White Sr, Samuel “Sam” White Sr, Kevin Martin Jr, Travis Martin, Tobie Kingbird Sr, Tobie Kingbird Jr and Leroy White Jr. Alternates will be Casey Perkins, Matthew White, Lorenzo White, Elbert White Sr, Elbert White Jr, Derek Bluecoat, Ian Iceman-Auginash, Aiden White and Angelo White. Honorary Pallbearers will be Darilyn Iceman, Tharen Iceman, Victoria White, Megan Stillday, Collette Kingbird, Georgia White, Leeann Blue, Becky White, Kelsey Rosebear, Emily Stillday and all of his family, aunts, uncles and cousins.
