Emerson Junior was brought into this world on August 28, 1984. He was born to our Mom Rosalyn M. GoodBuffalo & Emerson J. Hairychin Sr. He has 4 sisters Emera, Emercita, Autumn & Naomi Terese and we have 1 little brother Desmond Sr. I mention our family first only because Emerson would have wanted it that way. Even though he never had a chance to be married or have children of his own, he adored all of his nieces and nephews and treated them as if they were his own!
We lost our dear mother to COVID-19 in June 2020 and that hurt us all so much!! She was our family’s rock-she was/still is our Queen! Our dad Emerson Sr passed away also September 2024!
He is survived by his 4 sisters: Emera Hairychin, Emercita Hairychin, Autumn Birdhorse (Asher Birdhorse Sr.) and the youngest sister Naomi Terese! He is also survived by his only brother Desmond Rainey Sr; and his many nieces: Serina, Nativea, Monica, Elise, Ashriel, Izabelle, Lakota-Rose, Harmony and Tahleeyah Terese; his nephews Michael Sr (Poohbear), Elijah, Ezekiel, Asher Jr (Sierra Ironnecklace), Alejandro Joseph (A.J), Alfredo Jr, Elias & Baby Gio!
The wake will begin at 4PM on Monday, January 12, 2026 at the Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center in Minneapolis, MN and continue until the service on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Casket bearers are Asher Birdhorse Sr, Asher Birdhorse Jr, Micheal Hairychin Sr & Alfredo Villegas Jr.
There are many more family members and friends of Sonny’s, so just know we have you all in our hearts during these difficult moments!
Long live Lakota Dream 612
