Garrett Randolph Gibbs, Sr.

Garrett Randolph “Ga-hoot” Gibbs, age 59, of Redby, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021.

Garrett was born on July 19, 1962, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Mary Jourdain Gibbs and George Humphrey, Jr.  He was blessed with a son, Garrett Randolph Gibbs, Jr., and granddaughter Emma Violet Gibbs. Garrett loved to ski at Lutsen, Spirit Mountain, with Garrett Jr. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, traveled to many air shows, always went rock hunting, and most of all, loved spending time with granddaughter Emma. He was always willing to help others in need and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Garrett leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved mother, Mary Gibbs; son Garrett Gibbs, Jr.; granddaughter Emma Gibbs; sisters Carol (Don) Parisien, Audrey Jourdain, Sandra (Bob) Fairbanks, Delora Humphrey, and Diane Gibbs-Beaulieu; and brother George Humphrey III. He was preceded in death by his father George Humprey Jr.; sisters Ramona Gibbs and Jean Gibbs; brothers Oliver “Sonny” Gibbs, Gordon Gibbs, Sheldon Gibbs and James Humphrey; and numerous other relatives. He will be lovingly remembered by all his aunts, nieces and nephews.

A wake for Garrett will begin at the Dave Morgan Community Center, Bena, MN, on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 5:00pm, and will continue until his service on Friday, December 3, at 11:00am.  Fr. George Ross will officiate. Pallbearers will be Hunter Parisien, Terry Jourdain, Gabriel Sayers, Danny Reyes, Gerry “Otto” Reyes, and Gino Erwin with Jeff Barrett serving as alternate.  Honorary pallbearers will be Christa Schmitz, Nikolina Holmes, Diane Gibbs, Diane Gibbs-Beaulieu, Chuck and Deb Barrett, Harold Sayers, Jo Kay Jourdain, Ruth Auginash, Patrick “Ole” Norquay, Angela Azure, Todd Parisien, Garrett Goodman, Sam and Adrienne Morris, George and Vanessa Lafave, Giamoni Parisien, Mateo Morris, Violet Reyes, Esther (Ted) Bogda, Avis Pouport, Heidi Bileiu, and nieces, nephews and friends.  Interment will follow at the Bena Cemetery, Bena, Minnesota.
