Gary Neadeau Obituary

Gary Allen Neadeau of the Bear Clan, “Ogimaa” (name given by his Uncle Royce Sayers Sr), age 58, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Red Lake Hospital surrounded by his family.  He was born on February 15, 1965 to Edwina Neadeau and Charles “Chubby” Johns in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Gary was very family oriented and loved his family very much. He loved the outdoors. His hobbies were going to the casino, fishing, logging, cooking, making his well-known sun tea for his nieces. He loved logging with his uncle Myron Neadeau Sr and cousin Donald “Duck” Good Sr. He loved to fish with his uncle Francis “Buffalo” Neadeau and cousin Greg Good. He loved his Keno and his Rock ‘n Roll music. He was always right there to lend a helping hand when needed. He also loved going to pow-wows.  He loved his sisters very much.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Lateisha (Robert) Neadeau and granddaughter Remi Aldridge-Neadeau; sisters Laurie Neadeau, Linda (Rolly) Lussier, Ruth Neadeau, Patricia Neadeau, Mary Neadeau, Janet Neadeau Drouillard, Charla Geionety, Tracy Saice, Nicole Johns, Special Nieces Janna Desjarlait and Hannah Gurneau; aunts Priscilla Stately, Darlene Beaulieu, Allura May and Karen Neadeau; uncles Leon Neadeau, Maynard Johns and Dale Johns; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edwina and Chubby, his daughter Mariah Neadeau, Significant Other Jodi Johnson, his grandparents James & Katie (Sayers) Neadeau, Thomas & Fannie (Anderson) Johns; sister Kaela Mareigh Neadeau; brothers Lawrence “Larry” Neadeau, Charles “Chippy” May, Anthony Hanson, Special Brother Craig “Crusher” Roy Sr, numerous aunts and uncles.

The wake will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the New Red Lake Center and continue until the service at 1 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2024 with Father John Christianson officiating. Active Pallbearers will be Josh Neadeau, Patrick Desjarlait Jr, Ian Veaux, Alexander King, Jordan Neadeau, Tyrell Desjarlait, Tyrese Desjarlait and Royce Sayers Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg May, Gordon “Gordy” Johnson, Vernon “Bushy” Jones, Harold “Little Son” Brun, Donald “Duck” Good Sr, Ronald “Ron Bunyan” Good, Michael “Mikey Mouse” Good, Dan Neadeau Sr, Keith Stately, Billie Jean Johns-King, Ramona Sayers, Daniel Johnson, Carter Grant Stenseng, Casandra Stafford, Tamie Lee, Jozee Fossum, James Needham, Jeffery Needham and Alaina Stenseng.
