George H Olson

George H. Olson, age 89, of Mahtowa entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 in Duluth, MN. He was born on August 30, 1934 to Herbert and Jennie (Lahti) Olson in Mahtowa, MN.

George served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959. He was united in marriage to Sarah Hopp on January 31, 1958. He retired from Potlatch in 1996 after 36 years of service. He enjoyed his family and friends, his hobby farm, gardening and fish frys.

George is survived by his children Susan (Ron) Bumann, Jeffrey Olson, Sally (Brad) Wilson, Mary (Mike) DiMartino and Greg (Nona) Olson; grandchildren Andrew Bumann, Jason Alexander (Amy), Anna DiMartino, Sarah Wilson, Jarid (Ashley) Nacey and family, and Brian (Savannah) Ronding; great grandchildren Gavin, Lauren and Bennett Alexander; sister Evelyn Newman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sarah; grandchildren Amy (Bumann) Alexander and Evan Olson; brother Gunnard (Netta) Olson; sister Irene (Don) Peterson; and brother-in-law James Newman.

A Time of Remembrance will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 2-4 PM at Mahtowa Salem Hall, 2702 1st Street, Mahtowa, MN 55707.
