Gerald Norris “Bud” Beaulieu, age 82, began his spiritual journey on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Red Lake Indian Hospital in Red Lake, MN. Gerald was born on March 12, 1943 to Raymond Beaulieu Sr and Mary Jane Defoe in Red Lake, MN.
Gerald grew up in Red Lake, MN and Moline, IL. He attended school in Red Lake, MN, and later obtained his GED to continue his education at the Blackhawk College in Moline, IL. He worked many jobs, then returned to Red Lake to go on with his career as an EMT. While working, he met the love of his life, Georgia. On October 9, 1982, Gerald and Georgia married and they spent the rest of their lives together. He worked for Red Lake Indian Health Services as an Emergency Medical Technician for over 22 years, helping people and saving lives. After serving many years for the ambulance, he retired in 1999. Gerald went on with his EMT career and worked 18 years for 7 Clans Casino in Thief River Falls, MN, as a Risk and EMT Manager. He was always willing to help in areas he was needed. He then retired to dedicate his time to his family. Gerald also served on the Red Lake Nation Athletic Commission as Chairman for 21 years. His dedication and leadership to Red Lake Boxing was an honor for him and he never missed an event. He was very well known wherever he went and was a well-respected man. Bud enjoyed watching MMA fights with his son Lee. He loved late night rides to dealerships to look at cars. He looked forward to his weekly casino rides to play his free play and just to stop in and say hello. His favorite music was Elvis Presley. Every summer he made a trip to Illinois to visit his children and grandchildren. Bud also had planned to travel to Melbourne, Florida, to visit his daughter Annette and her family. Bud was also known for giving nicknames and would greet you with what he had chosen for you. Along the way, Bud inherited many friends and grandchildren whom he loved dearly and each were treated equal. Everybody loved Bud. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
