Gerald W. Raisch

Gerald Wayne Raisch, age 27, Bear Clan, of Ponemah, MN, travelled to the spirit world on Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Gerald was born on January 1, 1996, to Alana Anderson and Gerald Raisch, Sr. He lived in Ponemah with his grandparents, Phyllis Kingbird and Paul Nelson, and his son. He worked at several places over the years including the Thief River Casino, Red Lake Subway and Skip’s Tire and Service in Bemidji He enjoyed gaming, beading, and liked social media. He played basketball in the summer and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers. He was always willing to help his grandmother and enjoyed hanging out with friends. Above all, he loved to spend time with his children, grandparents, lovingly “terrorizing” his cousins and visiting with extended family.

He will be remembered by his children: Ivy Hardy, Malenia Hardy and Demarcus Raisch; parents: Alana Anderson and Gerald Raisch, Sr.; grandparents: Phyllis (Paul Nelson) Kingbird, Christine “Tina” Raisch; sister, Shyla Raisch; aunts: Lowanna (Brian Dow) Lee Anderson, Kimberly (Justin) Barnett, Alicia (Lee) Day, Lori White and Doris Kingbird and family; uncles: Spencer (Josephine) Whitefeather, Isaac Raisch, Sr., Darrell (Andrea) Kingbird Curtis Kingbird, Jack (Deb) Kingbird, Jr., Willard (Andrea) Kingbird; cousins: Hailey Dow, Kiara Dow, Madison Dow, Tashauna Dow; special friends: Charles Smith, Jr. and family, RayShayna Johnson, AJ Rosebear, John Schoenborn, Vatos Jaras, Jacob Roaneagle, Isaac Raisch, Travis (Pun) Rosebear, Kevin Johnson, Jr. and the staff at Obashing Treatment Center in Ponemah; as well as numerous other extended family and friends.

The wake will begin at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the Ponemah Boys & Girls Club in Ponemah and continue until the service on Thursday, January 12, 2023, with Arnold Kingbird as spiritual leader. Active casketbearers will be: Kyle Kingbird, Carl Kingbird, Willard Kingbird, Jr., Jacob Deserly, Carter Dow, Brian Dow and William Kingbird. Honorary casketbearers will be: Jacob Roaneagle, Corey Whitefeather, John Schoenborn, Charles Smith, and Dion Burris. Burial will be at the Kingbird Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN.
