Gloria E. Smith

Gloria E. Smith, age 66, of Redby, MN, died Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Red Lake Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Gloria was born on May 9, 1957, in Red Lake, MN, the daughter of Patrick and Irene (Fairbanks) Smith. She grew up and went to school in Red Lake. She worked for summer youth programs and the casino in Thief River.

Her hobbies included spending time with family and friends, going to the local casinos, taking walks and watching CSI movies at home. She will be deeply missed by all.

Gloria is survived by her sister, Josie Smith; brothers: Craig Smith, Richard Smith and John A. Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Irene Smith; brothers: Charlie, Patrick Jr., Patrick H.; sisters: Patsy, Erma, Cindy, Jenny, Valerie, Joanne and Phyllis; aunts, uncles, grandparents; great nephews: Ryan Strong and Richard Strong and David J.

The wake will begin at 1PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Redby Community Center in Redby and continue until the service at 2PM on Sunday, January 7, 2024, with Father John Christianson officiating. Active pallbearers will be: Leland Lussier Jr., Charles Smith Jr., Michael Barrett Jr., Todd Smith, Randolph Johnson, Jack Johnson, Rodney Prentice Jr., and Paul Prentice.  Honorary pallbearers will be: Roseanne Cournoyer, Jan Schoenborn, Margery Hawk, Carolyn Beaulieu, Donna Fairbanks, Tina Stately, Sharon Kingbird, Jeannine Durant and Sandra Brown. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack, MN.
