Greg James May, "Manidoo Inini " Spirit Man, of the Bear Clan, began his journey on April 9, 2025, at his home in Red Lake, MN. Greg was born on August 10, 1962, in Inglewood, CA. He loved spending time with family and friends. Greg worked maintenance for Housing, working with his brothers as a construction subcontractor and was good with septic systems, painting, siding and roofing. Greg treated people the way they treated him, and he was always trying to help people.
Greg leaves behind his daughter Amy Cook; grandchildren: Taleigha, Dezman, Danaya, Styles, Arleighauna and Karaleigha; siblings: Pam May, Adrian May, and Shelly May (Chris); Special sister: Diana May; aunts Shirley Willey, Nancy Polonia; and Uncle: Roy Anderson.
Greg is welcomed into the spirit world by his mother Violet Roy; father Melvin May Sr; brother Melvin May Jr; grandparents: Eliza Anderson and Andrew Neadeau, Katie and Thomas Hill; aunties: Rosetta Jourdain, Sally May, Belva Smallwood, Lucille Anderson, Marge Neadeau, Gloria Neadeau, Margaret Sumner, Alice Hill, Mary White, Julia Kingbird, Rosellen LaGou and Darlene Lussier; uncles Francis Brun Sr, Herbert May, Ron Anderson, and Leslie Anderson, Tilford, Thomas and Leonard Hill; and the many relatives who journeyed before him.
The wake will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the old Little Rock Center and continue until the service at 10:00 am on Saturday, April19, 2025 with Spiritual Advisor Allen Hardy. Active pallbearers will be John Jourdain, Floyd "Buck" Jourdain, Corey May, Arnie May, Trevor Lussier and Jeff LaGou. Honorary pallbearers Joyce Roy, Thelma May, Candace LaGou, Darryl Maxwell, David May, Diana May, Laurie May, Andrea Rosebear, Mona Nelson, Donna Graves and Rosalie Hill. Burial will be at St Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, MN.
