Harold Brun Sr Obituary

Harold Vincent Brun Sr passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026 at the age of 63, surrounded by loved ones, at Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, Minnesota.

Harold was born on October 3, 1962 in Red Lake, Minnesota, to Pete and Sylvia Brun. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, loving family man, and loyal friend whose kindness, strength, and generosity touched the lives of many. His quiet resilience and unwavering love for his family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Harold found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing, especially the time he spent on the water with Greg and Ellion. As a young man, he enjoyed playing softball and carried that love of the outdoors throughout his life. He looked forward to attending powwows, camping with family, hunting and trying his free play at the casino. Some of his quietest and happiest moments were spent sitting in his truck, listening to music and simply enjoying the day. These moments, sharing with family and friends, will be remembered with love and will bring comfort for years to come.

Harold is survived by his children Derek Brun, Sarah (Josh) Aspinwall, Natalie Beaulieu, Harold Brun Jr., Loni Brun, Victoria (Greg) Brun and Terry Bob. He is also survived by his siblings Jewel Desjarlait, Angela Brun, Marianne Brun, Toni Pemberton and Keenan Sayers. Harold was a proud and loving grandfather that was blessed with 5 great-grandsons, who brought him great joy. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, extended Sayers family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

He is preceded in death by his parents Pete and Sylvia Brun; his maternal grandparents Fanny and Thomas Johns; and his paternal grandparents Bill and Madeline Brun; his children Vincent Laroque and Margaret Bob; and nephews Don Desjarlait Jr and Mike Desjarlait.
