Hope Mae Oakgrove

Hope Mae Oakgrove, WAA BISH KI BINESI IKNE (White Thunder Bird Woman), age 9, began her journey to the spirit world on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Hope was born on June 29, 2015 to Kelly Ehrich and Christopher Oakgrove Sr in Bemidji, Minnesota.  She loved to draw and hang out with Christian and Charlotte. She liked Aphmar and watching youtube. She loved wearing dresses and tutus!   

Hope is survived by her mother Kelly Ehrich and her father Christopher Oakgrove Sr; grandmother Marge Garcia; sisters Chrystalee Oakgrove, River Oakgrove, Araya Ehrich and Lorraine Strong; brothers Christopher Oakgrove Jr, Christian Oakgrove, Royal Misquadace; aunts Jaime Ehrich, Kerry Ehrich, Staci Ehrich; uncles Keith Ehrich, Kevin Ehrich and Arlan (AJ) Ehrich;

Travelling with her to the spirit world are her grandparents, Vincent and Bonnie, and cousin Charlotte White; greeting them are great-aunts Mabel Kingbird, Phyllis Thunder and Ada Atkinson; great-grandma Lorraine Beaulieu; grandfathers Donald Oakgrove Sr and Arlan Ehrich II.

A traditional wake will begin at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Little Rock Center and continue until the service at 10 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, with Ty Stately and Zac Earley as spiritual leaders. Active pallbearers will be Shane Waybenais, Christopher Oakgrove Jr, Micheal Strong, Riley Ehrich, Keith Ehrich Jr, Arlan (AJ) Enrich III and Arlan Ehrich IV. Alternates: David Smith, Tyrone Thunder, Kevin Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be close friends and family and Christian "Tiny Boy" Oakgrove. Burial will be at the Dow residence, alongside her grandparents, Vincent and Bonnie, and her cousin, Charlotte.
