Jacob Jeffrey Hunter

Jacob Jeffrey Hunter, age 31, of Red Lake, MN, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Jacob was born on January 7, 1989 in Chicago, IL, to Jeffrey Hunter and Libby Gurneau.  He moved with his family to Red Lake, MN in 2000.  He graduated from Red Lake High School in 2007 and from Red Lake Nation College in 2014. Jacob enjoyed spending time with his daughter, loved movies, watching them and quoting them.  He was a conisiuer of flower, food and drink.  He also liked grilling and playing video games.  He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and laughter.

He will be lovingly remembered by his parents: Libby Gurneau and Jeffrey Hunter; special son Dominic McDaniel and his daughter, Alana McDaniel; brothers:  Jeremiah and Joshua Hunter; his grandmother, Valerie White, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. 

Jacob was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raphael John Gurneau and friends: Vernon May and Zeke Robinson.

The Wake will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 12, 2020 at the Red Lake Center in Red Lake and continue until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.  Casketbearers will be:  Allen Jourdain, Travis Schoenborn, Jordan Gurneau, Patrick Tahahwah Sr., Patrick Tahahwah Jr., and Louis Gurneau.  Honorary casketbearers will be:  Lucas Goulet, Austin Kliniske, Jeremiah Hunter, Joshua Hunter, Luisa Gonzalez, Rachel Gurneau, Raphael Gurneau, Nicole Hart and Jeff Thompson.  Interment will be at St. Marys Cemetery in Red Lake.
