James Whitefeather Obituary

James “Jim” Robert Whitefeather, Makoons – “Little Bear” of the Turtle Clan, age 32, of Redby, MN, journeyed to the Spirit World on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

James was born on June 25, 1988 in Red Lake, MN to Alvin Jones and Denise Whitefeather. Growing up he loved playing basketball at the RPG and football in his grandma Bonita’s yard. He made his home in Redby, MN and was blessed to have two sons, Baby Jim and Alonzo, with Anjelica.

Jim was outgoing, had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He loved music and his favorite song was “Purple Rain” by Prince which he memorized and sang all the time. James also enjoyed playing Xbox with friends, going for car rides to the lake and spending time with his boys.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his special friend, Anjelica Stillday; his sons: Baby Jim and Alonzo; his parents: Denise Whitefeather and Alvin Jones; two brothers: William Omen III and Delan Omen Jr., his sister, Breanna Omen; grandmother, Bonita Whitefeather; his special aunt, Anita Whitefeather as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents: Wilson LeRoy Graves, Daniel Cummings, Lawrence Jones and Louella Hawk; his uncle, Peter White; and his cousin, Robin Roberts.

The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 7, 2020 and continue until the service at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 9, 2020. Casketbearers will be: Alex Whitefeather, Trent Whitefeather, Shane May, Christofer “Chris” Morrison, William Omen, Courtney Whitefeather, Robert “Bill” Lussier and Ryan Brown. Alternate casketbearers will be: Anthony “Tony” Green, Dale Whitefeather and Brian Brown. Honorary casketbearers will be: Anjelica Stillday, Trisha May, Ashley Morrison, Teara Whitefeather, Dalene Fajardo, Breanna Omen, Anthony “Ant” Morrison, Delan Omen Jr., Ashlieen Roy, Tyrell Brown, Daniel Barrett, Jeffery May, Brandon Jackson, Zachary “Zach” Morrison, Martina Roberts, Jennifer Stately, Brandi Stillday, Rena Sumner, Mandy Sumner and Mary Owens. Burial will be at the Whitefeather Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN.
