Jamie Lee Kingbird

Jamie Lee Kingbird, age 39, of the Bear Clan, began her journey to the spirit world on July 17, 2025 in St Louis, Missouri.

Jamie was born on October 17, 1985 to Virgil Kingbird Sr and Karen Kingbird in Bemidji, MN. She attended Ponemah Elementary School and middle school and high school in Red Lake. She moved to Ponemah in her younger years with her family and then moved to Redby with her Grandma Margaret Dow-Jones (Mugs). Jamie moved to Minneapolis in 2008 and then to Missouri in 2016 until the time she was united with her mother and father, along with many other loved ones.  Jamie enjoyed spending time outdoors with her friends and mostly her family, eating out at restaurants with her husband, writing poems, singing to R&B songs like 112, 2pac, Beyonce and Luther Vandross. She was finishing her third year of college. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children.

Jamie is survived by her sons: Andre Harrison (Emylee) and Jayden Trydell Harrison; daughters: Temara Harrison (Dray Pemberton), Asia Skinaway and Reyna Lewis; granddaughter: McKenna Grace Harrison; grandson: Cruz Allen Pemberton; brothers: Derrick Lee Kingbird, Virgil Kingbird and Devon Lassmen; sisters: Derrisa Lee Kingbird (Stanley Donnell) and Tessa Jones (Derrick Oliver Sr); uncles: Earl Raincloud, Marty Raincloud, Mitchell Kingbird and Melvin Kingbird Jr; aunt: Charlene Kingbird; and special friend: Reginald Lewis.

She will be reuniting with her mother: Karen June Kingbird; father: Virgil Jones; grandparents: Carrie Tonce Kingbird and Myron Tonce Kingbird and William Jones III and Margaret Miller Dow; uncles: Raymond Raincloud, Lawrence Dow Sr, Grover Dow, Charles Kingbird; and special friend: Marshall Skinaway.

A wake will begin at 1 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the Ponemah Boys & Girls Club and will continue until the service at 10 AM on Thursday, August 7, 2025 with Spiritual Leader Mike Needham. Active Pallbearers will be Derrick Oliver, Dray Pemberton, Kenneth Harrison, Jayden Harrison, Marty Raincloud, Virgil Kingbird. Honorary Pallbearers will be Temara Harrison, Salina Jones, Valencia Jones, Wesley Jones, Jamilyn Fairbanks, Tessa Jones, Derissa Kingbird, Heather Greco, Shelby Olson, Kelly Jones, Earl Raincloud and Carl Fairbanks Sr. Burial will be at Kingbird Family Burial Grounds.
