Jennifer Greenleaf

Jennifer Negonibenaisikwe Greenleaf, started her journey to the spirit world on  Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the age of 55. Jen passed in Fargo, ND, surrounded by her three kids and granddaughter.

Jen was born on October 31, 1970, in Moorhead, MN to Mary Morlan-Hahn and Peter Greenleaf Jr. Jen grew up and attended school in Bemidji, MN.  From a very young age family was always important to her.  In 1988 she welcomed her first born daughter, Danielle, to the world and lived and breathed being a mother from then on, devoted to her daughter all while traveling for events and various activities. In 2001, she welcomed twin daughters: Shayne and Allyson, and two years later she had her one and only son, Kaydon Allyn. She spent the next 22 years being the best supportive mother. As the years went on, Jen’s motherly love spilled over and spread to the community, becoming a friend, mentor and second mom to anyone in need. She always had time to lend an ear and listen without judgement which made her perfect for her role in the MN Prison Doula Project and later the head of  Waaziswan “The Nest” program, providing cultural maternal care to mothers and children.  Even through Jen’s illness she was devoted to her “girls” who worked along side her and the program itself.  She was proud of her sixteen years of sobriety and will lovingly be remembered for her contagious laugh.

Jen will be lovingly remembered by her children: Danielle Greenleaf, Shayne Wind, Kaydon Wind; parents: Mary (Dave) Hahn; granddaughter Isla Bergeron; special grandsons: Cedric and Amadeo Pugsley; sisters: Sara LaRose, Simone (Laura) Greenleaf, Maggie (Joe) Greenleaf; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Those greeting her in the spirit world are: her infant daughter, Allyson Wind; father, Peter Greenleaf Jr; sisters: Elaine Greenleaf, Vonnie Knox, Carrie Greenleaf, Terra Greenleaf; grandmother, Eileen “GG” Morlan.

A traditional wake will begin at 1PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the Ponemah Boys & Girls Club in Ponemah, MN and continue until the service at 10AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 with Kordae Kingbird as spiritual leader. Active pallbearers will be: Kaydon Wind, Cedric Pugsley, Aaron Weitzel, Joshua Seelye Jr, John Seelye, Gordon Seelye. Honorary pallbearers will be: Danielle Greenleaf, Shayne Wind, Allen Weitzel, Jessica Morlan, Joe Martin, Maggie Greenleaf, Mary Seelye, Amadeo Pugsley, Anthony Larose Jr, Struther Greenleaf. Burial will be at the Greenleaf Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving Northern Minnesota.
