Jerrel Michael-Gene DeMarrias, Bezhigo Animikii “First Lightning” of the Eagle Clan, began his journey to the spirit world on Thursday, June 26, 2025 in Bemidji, MN.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his parents: Roberta Barrett and Jerrik DeMarrias Sr; siblings: Isaac and Isabel Lussier, Jerrik DeMarrias Jr and Charlie Morgan; maternal grandfather: Michael Barrett Sr; paternal grandmother: Kimberly Schoenborn; Special Aunt: Khrisha Stately; Special Uncles: Craig Graves (Shianne) and Jarrott DeMarrias Jr; numerous aunts and uncles; and special nurse Sophi.
Those greeting him and holding him safely in their arms are brother: Kory Jr; maternal grandmother: Mary Barrett-May; paternal great-grandparents: Julius and Beverly Schoenborn; Dorothy and Geno DeMarrias; and uncle: Julian DeMarrias Sr.
A wake will begin at 1 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at the Redby Center and will continue until the service at 1 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Active Pallbearers will be Jerrik DeMarrias Sr and Craig Graves. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kayanna Schoenborn, Kelsie Schoenborn, Julian DeMarrias Jr, Jarrott DeMarrias and Special Aunt Khrisha Stately. Burial will be at the Schoenborn Family Burial Grounds in Redby, MN. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Northern Minnesota.
