Jessica Sue Johns

Jessica Sue Johns, age 52, began her journey to the spirit world on January 10, 2026.

Jessica was born to Phillip and Rose “LaLa” (Brun) Johns on April 27, 1973 in Red Lake, MN. She got her GED in 1991 and worked at the Red Lake Casino until she became an EMT and worked for Comp Health until 1997. She loved all animals and had a cat and dog her entire childhood life. She enjoyed going to the casino, being with friends and opened her home to anyone in need. She liked to spend time with her grandchildren and watch movies with the family. She liked to go on long walks and loved her St. Bernard Kilo Johns. She loved her some egg salad!  Jessica was a very caring, loving and kind person who will be greatly missed by all those that knew her.

Jessica is survived by her son, Jacob Johns; daughters: Philomene and Mya Johns; special friend: Francis Dave Downwind; several grandchildren; brother: Frank Johns of Champlin; sister: Breanna Sayers of Red Lake; nephews: Matt Dudley and Daman Johns.

She is preceded in death by both parents; sister: Colleen Johns; maternal grandparents: James and Mary Jane Brun; paternal grandparents: Frank and Philomene Johns; and several aunts and uncles.

A wake will begin at 1 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the New Red Lake Center and will continue until the service at 2 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at St Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Josh Salonek. Active Pallbearers will be Frank Johns, Ricky Chaboyea, Bruce Johns, Donald Brun Jr, Matt Dudley, Rob Cook. Alternates: Leah Cook, Brandon Morgan, Francis Brun III. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kari White, Sheila Neadeau, Tracey Peters, Brandi Jourdain, Nicole Johns, Breanna Sayers, Connie Defoe, Kali Johns, Daman Johns, Dylan Johns, Terrie Lussier, Jordan Downwind, Court Whitefeather, Hailey Johns, Kari Spears, Connie Neadeau, Simone Johns.
