John Wesley Curo, age 78, of Hackensack, Minnesota, passed away on November 26, 2023 at his residence. John was born on January 13, 1945 in Goodman, Wisconsin to Harold and Gertrude (Miller) Curo.
John and his family moved to Walker, Minnesota, when he was a baby and was raised in the Walker area. He attended school to be a machinist and worked at Rockwell in the cities. John married Arlene Austin on April 11, 1974 in St Paul and they moved to the Hackensack area when he retired in 2003.
He was a storyteller and his family will miss hearing all his stories! He loved fishing, hunting and spending time in the outdoors. He loved the time spent with his family and had an avid interest in his family’s history, especially in the Walker area.
John is survived by his wife Arlene; sons Don (Sherri) Ayres and Randy (Brenda) Ayres; daughters Sandra (Tony) Czech and Janis (Jim) Lang; 26 grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren; brother Edward Curo; sister-in-law Sharon Curo (Bob); and son-in-law Guy Yuker (Vicky).
He was preceded in death by son Wendell Ayres; daughter Vicky Yuker; and brothers Robert Curo and Donald Curo.
A Memorial Service will be held on 1:00 PM, Monday, December 11, 2023 at Salem Lutheran Church, Longville, MN. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Hackensack, Minnesota.
