John "JayD" David Sayers Sr

John “JayD” David Sayers Sr, age 35, began his journey to the spirit world on Friday, May 2, 2025 in Minneapolis, MN.

John was born on June 28, 1989 to William Sayers and Billie Jo Mountain in Bemidji, MN. John grew up in Red Lake and Bemidji in Northern, MN. He had many hobbies, including attending festivals and concerts, taking nature walks, collecting knives, video games, watching basketball and standup comedy. He liked black and red, and “dark stuff”. He loved music and food, liked to tease and loved hanging out with family and friends. He was a hard worker and super loyal.

John is survived by his parents: William "Bee" Sayers and Billie Jo Mountain; children: Amiya Louise Sayers and John “Rico” David Sayers Jr; brothers: Brody Sayers, Kendrick Kingbird, David Goggleye, Will Kingbird, Sam Kingbird and D’Angelo Benais; sisters: Janae Kingbird, Maelena Goggleye and Marie Spears; aunts, uncles, great-aunts, grand uncles, grandma and grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his grandma: Marlene “Debbie” Mountain; grandpas: Robin Stately and Matthew Billy Sayers; uncles: Harley Sayers and infant Dan Sayers; special brother: James Rojas; great-grandma Ethel Sayers; and numerous cousins and relatives.

A wake will begin at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the Old Red Lake Center and continue until the service at 2 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025 with Father Tom Niehaus. Active Pallbearers will be Brody Sayers, Kendrick Kingbird, Denver Aragon, D’Angelo Benais and Will Kingbird Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kyle Little, Dan Sayers, Rhys Beaulieu, Melvin Durant, Tony Harrison, David Goggleye and Derrick Cloud. Burial will be at St Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, MN.  Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker & Hackensack, MN.
